Rosy Blush.

No, I'm not blushing, I'm just red...from the sun. Or, hm, it might be my Asian glow...well, now I'm not really sure... everything just became all so questionable.

I've never encountered someone who was like, "Ugh. A nice, sunny day? What the hell is this madness? My day has just been ruined. This is this worst." And you know why that is? Because having an outlook like that on days like this is silly. Because nice weather, is nice. Having the day open for many possible adventures is invigorating. And we all feel a little bit like the cool kids on the block when we get to walk around with stunna shades on. Then when it's time to stop to take a seat to bask in the sunshine, that cold beverage becomes even more enticing, doesn't it?

So. Let's shake things up and drink. Koloa's Coconut Rum returns again with this one! As I attempt to bring the start date of Summer closer, we're back at it with the sunburst cocktails of fruit splendors and this wonderful flavored rum. I gave a brief background a couple posts earlier about the levels of my drinking self, and returning back to spirits that I've had to take breaks from...because of...reasons. So, here I find myself again opening the front door of this delightful coconut rum and stepping into another joyous drinking experience, leaving my cocktail (and cheeks) blushing.

"Rosy Blush" is a warm day on the rocks. This vibrant and lush cocktail is made up of blood orange, lime, coconut rum, and all spice. It's a relaxing and rejuvenating one that makes you close your eyes, lean back, and say, "Oh yeah, this is the life."

Let's concoct:

  • 2 oz Koloa's Coconut Rum
  • 0.5 oz Blood Orange
  • 0.25 oz Lime
  • 0.25 oz All-Spice Dram

*Juice blood orange. All all ingredients into a mixing glass and shake vigorously with ice. Strain over fresh cubed or cracked ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with blood orange wheel.
